The Senior HR Business Partner is a new position within the recently created Tekever Defence Business Unit.
Tekever Defence is responsible for the development and delivery of Tekever’s capability offering to the Defence market. The Tekever Defence Business Unit is split into six main departments – Engineering, Capability, Futures, Operations, Delivery and Business Development & Commercial.
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join our team at Tekever. The Senior HR Business Partner will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management and administration within the business unit. This includes recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
You will be based in Bath with an expectation of at least 3 days a week office working. You will also expected to travel frequently (minimum 20%) to other locations in the UK, Portugal and Europe.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Define BU’s recruitment strategy with the Talent Acquisition Manager to attract talent in the technology and defence industries.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle;
- Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, including orientation and training programmes;
- Manage employee relations and address any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner;
- Implement performance evaluation. Coach the team leaders into providing continuous feedback for team members. Collaborate with team leaders to create development plans.
- Drive and support culture and engagement initiatives;
- Develop and implement training and development programmes to enhance employee skills and knowledge;
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, including maintaining accurate employee records;
- Ensure compliance with global HR policies and procedures and develop and implement specific HR policies and procedures for business unit;
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand their specific needs and develop HR strategies to support business unit goals;
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR related matters;
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in HR management.
Essential Competencies:
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, preferably in the defence / technology industry;
- Strong knowledge of UK employment laws and regulations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong organisational and problem solving skills;
- Proficiency in ATS, HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
