Lisbon, Portugal, 2 November 2026 — TEKEVER and General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada successfully detected underwater targets during REPMUS 2026, demonstrating a distributed Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) capability that combines autonomous aerial surveillance with acoustic sensing and processing to support naval situational awareness above and below the surface.
During missions off the Portuguese coast, the demonstration brought together TEKEVER’s AR5 uncrewed aerial system and ATLAS mission management platform with the General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada acoustic sensing and processing technology. Together, the companies demonstrated an integrated chain from deploying sonobuoys at sea to detecting underwater targets, integrating detections into ATLAS, TEKEVER’s mission management platform, and the General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada Distributed Acoustic Processing System, and sharing that information with the wider operational picture in real time.
By combining autonomous flight, deployed acoustic sensors, and integrated mission intelligence, TEKEVER and General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada create a more complete, comprehensive maritime picture from the skies to the ocean floor. This new capability is a force multiplier in the maritime domain and marks a new step toward connected maritime awareness from space to seabed, bringing greater visibility to the underwater domain.
This approach treats the maritime environment as a single operational picture, rather than a series of separate domains. TEKEVER’s expertise in autonomous systems and mission intelligence, together with the General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada underwater sensing technologies, enables the connection of information across space, air, surface, and subsurface domains, supporting faster, better-informed operational decisions.
TEKEVER and General Dynamics’ work at REPMUS 2026 marked a new step in the two companies’ collaboration, building on previous editions of the REPMUS exercise and advancing the integration of autonomous platforms, acoustic sensing, and mission management systems into a distributed ASW capability.
Pedro Petiz, Director of TEKEVER for Portugal, said: “The maritime mission does not stop at the waterline. Our customers need to understand what is happening above and below the sea and use that understanding as part of the same mission. TEKEVER connects that picture from space to seabed with systems proven in real-world operations and designed to tackle increasingly complex challenges. At REPMUS, we have shown we can combine operational maturity with bleeding-edge technologies to expand what forces can achieve in the maritime domain. This is how our systems continue to evolve and ensure they are one step ahead of mission requirements.”
Tony Morris, Vice-President, Air and Naval Systems, General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada: “At REPMUS, our team demonstrated an important step forward in distributed Anti-Submarine Warfare, successfully deploying sonobuoys from a TEKEVER AR5 and processing the resulting acoustic data to detect and track underwater contacts. By bringing together autonomous platforms, sensors and mission systems, we are enabling a more connected approach to anti-submarine warfare that can give operators greater situational awareness across the battlespace.”
